Who knows how many times you wanted to get your brochure or catalog with the back of your picture, but you ‘ll be heard responding : with a number of pages so small you can not do the back panel.
When you can accomplish the back panel ? The paperback , or back panel until now could only be achieved with brochures or pamphlets whose number of pages exceeded the thickness of two millimeters ( generally from about 32 pages ) and could be of two types: milled and cotton thread . The paperback milled involves gluing the pages on one side ( the back ) with a glue and polyurethane generally in milled ( grooving of the back ) the same to allow a more homogeneous absorption of the glue , and to facilitate the fold, the whole is then bound by a machine, which gives the whole a classic square spine .
The paperback or cotton thread sewn , as the name implies , adds to previous work the seam of the pages collected in quatrains , sestini , etc. . ( signatures ) to the seam may be used threads of cotton , hemp, flax or synthetic , in some cases we also use the silk thread for its resistance and sensitivity toward the paper.
The Study of Advertising in Turin Erremme Communicating today can achieve even the back panel of the brochure or catalogs with very few pages , thus avoiding the inconvenience of the classic imbarcatura on the back, and unsightly particularly evident with papers heavier than 100 gr.
But why is it preferable to staple the back panel in the saddle ?
For a simple aesthetic concept ! The back panel is more elegant and pleasing to the eye , giving the appearance of a greater harmony of your catalog or brochure. The pages of a brochure or a catalog with this finish , they divide more easily and are more ordered . Finally, you will not feel respond ” with these few pages we can not realize the back panel .”
